Gallbladder

Cholecystectomy is Surgical removal of the Gall bladder. This becomes necessary because of stones in the Gall bladder causing symptoms. This could be pain (Biliary colic)- Pain in the right upper abdomen after a heavy meal with nausea and vomiting.
The Gall bladder could also be inflamed/ infected by a stone blocking its duct- Cholecystitis.
The stones which are formed in the Gall bladder could cause obstruction of the Bile channel causing Obstructive jaundice. The stones are also a cause of Pancreatitis.
